Pregnant and Parenting Students

无码天堂 supports the academic success of all students. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 ("Title IX"), 20 U.S.C. §1681 et seq., is a Federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex-including pregnancy and parental status-in educational programs and activities.

Accommodations

Students may request accommodations during pregnancy, after childbirth, or for other related conditions. Accommodations are tailored to each student and as such they will vary from student to student. Some examples of potential accommodations include:

  • Excused absences due to pregnancy, or related conditions deemed medically necessary by a doctor.
  • Flexible deadlines for work submissions.
  • Rescheduling of tests and exams.
  • Providing reasonable physical accommodations.
  • Providing alternatives to make up missed work.
  • A return to the same academic or extracurricular status.

Accommodations for students originate through the Accessibility Resource Center (ARC). It is the student's responsibility to contact ARC and initiate the conversation. Employees should arrange accommodations through Human Resources (HR).
